The hymnal used by Cistercians was recast and corrected under St Stephen Harding in 1113 and under St Bernard in 1147. The MS here edited is a commentary on the 51 hymns of the 1147 revision of the hymnal. The MS was formerly in the library of Clairvaux Abbey and passed during the Revolution to the Bibliothèque municipale of Troyes. It constitutes the only extant witness to this anonymous work, and was most likely written in the second half of the 12th century. The edition does not contain indexes.
